Does iMovie '09 take .mov files?

iMovie '08 doesn't - which is why I'm still using iMovie HD.

EDIT: Well, I tried it on my MacBook this time rather than my Mini - it does take them, I guess, maybe only certain .mov files?

a .mov could be a hundred different things... what codec are you trying to import?

Yes, .mov can be many different ones. I will have to go onto my Mini later and see what format the one I tried is...

then it is not in an editing format...

open the video in MPEGstreamclip (free download) and export it in the Apple DV codec.
