Does iPad support external microphones?

Need to collect video and audio of interviews and would like to get good audio with an external mic. Would like to use iPod vrs a laptop. Looked on the internet. Posts say yes but most microphones are usb.

Yes - use the USB Camera adapter that has Lightning input for external power - some mics work without extra power, some require it. But yes pretty much all USB mics will work on the iPad.

We have blue snowball microphone. Does the camera adapter still work in iPad OS. Does iPad OS change how usb peripherals work with the iPad. Thank for your input

No it will still work - as mentioned some microphones need external power which you can do via the USB-3 Camera Adapter that Apple sells
