I have the option to buy an iPhone 3G but it seems I've heard it can't do simultaneous voice/data. Is that true? I know AT&T's commercial advertises that the iPhone does simultaneous voice/data but it seems I've heard that's only for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. Is that true? I want to verify this before deciding on this purchase.

Yes, the iPhone 3G can do both. But be absolutely sure you want a very old iPhone 3G before you buy one.

iPhone 3G is incredibly slow with iOS 4, I would strongly advice against buying one. You would be far better off with a 3GS
