Hi there.

I have an iPhone X under AC+ with no incidents used so far.

If I do an express replacement (iPhone is overheating), will I be charged USD 99? And will one of my incidents be used up? There is no physical damage, just overheating.

I do not think so since there is no physical damage and with AC+, you have the extended warranty and if they find something that's faulty not of your fault, they don't use your incident.

My understanding with the express replacement is they put a hold of the total cost onto your CC, they send you the replacement unit, and once you receive the replacement unit, you send your original back, and once they receive the original back, then they drop the hold from your CC.

If they don’t find the overheating issue according to them, will they deduct an incident and USD 99?

No, because if you are using the express replacement service, they are just simply sending you a replacement device and putting a HOLD for the full amount on your card until you send your original back and they receive it.

What did AppleCare say? They could charge you if they checked and don't find an issue.
