I just watched the video for the new iTouch. It shows that you can play games (that look like Mario Cart!) and by rotating the iTouch around (like holding a steering wheel) you can drive the cart.

Does the iPhone do all this and more?

The iPhone always had this since release (though App Store never came out until a couple of months ago...).

The iPod touch also had this since its release in September.

I guess Apple just never liked the iPod touch to make an ad for it until now :p.

i'm really surprised at the thread starter..............i mean, look at all the posts he's put on this site, yet, has no idea the ipod touch is the same as the iphone, without the phone part. wow.

I don't use cell phones (though I have a RAZR with pre-paid minutes for emergencies). No one needs total access to me.

But I thought it was weird that the second thing they mentioned about the Touch (right after they say how thin it is) is that it plays games. I don't think I've ever seen an ad mentioning that the iPhone plays games. They always show email, GPS and Safari. And since I have a MBP, I didn't figure that Apple was interested in any of their wares playing games!

I still have a RAZR!

Haha wow! I would probably still have a RAZR too, but I smashed it into pieces (by accident), and then upgrade to the iPhone. I love my iPhone 3G, but really miss having a phone I wasn't afraid to spill beer on :p!

iTouch – How pathetic. What is an iTouch?

Can't understand this MySpace and facebook Generation talking in their own kiddy terms. That means being comfortably.

Best example: TUAW. Try to read the articles. It's full of this kiddy language.

But iTouch is really pathetic.

@MajorDude. Interesting view with the access thing. Since I do have a cell phone, it's something good and bad.

Good for commucation, but very bad when you are availabe 24/7. And when your friends or spouses can't reach you, they are getting really mad nowadays. Sometime I just turn off my iPhone, cause I also don't see a proof of beeing available 24/7. Interesting view anyway. Would be cool reading other opinions about this.

Well since you're new to it, it's not too late for you to start calling it the iPod Touch.

itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch, itouch!

:p

"iPod touch" (it's supposed to be lowercase) is too hard to type and doesn't differentiate it from the HTC Touch very well.

"iTouch" does that so much quicker and easier.

Sorry whenever someone says itouch it pisses me off a lot. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. Even more when someone says something incorrectly and makes some excuse to why he said it like "its faster".

I hate it when people don't understand proper English contractions but bitch about made up names like iTouch. Sorry, it is just one of my biggest pet peeves. The contraction for "it is" is "it's" not "its".

Yeah... it really gets on my nerves too.

I think why it bugs me so much is because people don't call the nano the "iNano" or the classic the "iClassic" or the shuffle the "iShuffle". Obviously people call it the "iTouch" because it has a touchscreen just like the iPhone, and the iPhone is called the "iPhone" so they feel they need to fabricate a word for the iPod touch.

But it really pisses me off. Yes, I know there are bigger problems in the world and yes, I know that "we all know what he/she meant" but it's kind of like saying "I ain't got no problems with that there" or something similar and then someone defending them saying "We all know what they meant". Just because we all know what they meant does not make it condonable.

Is IPT better than iTouch?

No.

Touch, touch, iPod touch, and even iPod Touch are OK. But iTouch, itouch, ITouch, Itouch, iPT, an IPT are not not viable abbreviations of iPod touch in my book.

Man, if Apple ever makes a product called "iTouch" I'll kill myself.

Sorry for the double post.

iPod + Touch = iTouch (three less letters)... like LOL, BRB, BFF. You need to switch to decaf!

you might as well say
iTV (5 less letters than actual product name)
or
iNano/iClassic (3 letters less than actual product name)

People get annoyed by this because you're referring to a product that doesn't exist; unlike abbreviating...MBP, MB, MP.

You're all a bunch of iTards. Get over the use of iTouch. It's far too late to try and stop anyone from using it.

I came on to this thread to see how in the world it was still going on and reached 2 pages. Then saw it had devolved into the iPod Touch v. iTouch debate.

I correctly said "it's" when talking about my opinion. I said "'its faster'" which was quoted from someone else in another thread giving his reason for saying "itouch"

getting all worked about someone saying iTouch has got to be one of the most pedantic, ridiculous, absurd, anal, OCD, childish, and honestly, dumb things i've ever heard. the amount of time, energy, and bandwidth that has been wasted on this and other forums on the "iTouch" debate is staggering. if it really bothers you that much, i think it's time to get an iLife... :)
