I want to get an IPOD to my folks who live abroad.
They don't have the latest computer in the market. This notebook has an USB1 port, and they use the PC card slot for a wireless card.
At the apple store I was told that porobably it won't work with a USB1 port. I've seen people using a USB1 port. I don't mind that the transfer is going to be slow and just don't want to mess with their computer settings (swithching cards (firewire-wireless) to transfer songs.
Any chance it won't work at all with the USB1?

thanks for your help

USB 1.0 is compatible with USB 2.0, so I don't see why they should have a problem. USB 1.0 is slower, obviously, but that's not the end of the world.

dotnina is correct. When we first got our daughter an iPod Mini, she was using it on a PC laptop that only had one USB 1.1 port. It was slow of course, but it did work.

Of course it works much better now, what with her G4 iBook. :D
