yea i see on average 20 ppl with the phone on a regular day out shopping, school or watever. But most of them is completely stock non jb phones. Most people only have a few applications.

I rock mine in a capsule neo or rebel depending on my mood jb and fully customized.

To other strangers i just have another iphone. But it always manage to capture the attentions of my friends/ acquaintances/ customers or just random ppl i'm chatting with. 90% of other iphone user around me do not know that this phone is in fact highly personalizable and most of them use it like a razr.

I am not really bother by the iphone's popularity. The more common users have this phone, my own customized app filled phone will seem more special.

Not the case with the 2g though. in the 2g era all of them had to be unlocked and therefore jb to be use where i live therefore most 2g owners knows and will personalize their $400 phone.

The subsidized price of the 3g phone is great :) i like being the black sheeps amount the white sheeps:p;)

It sure does bother me!!! It bothers me because I don't have mine yet. I've had an Apple gift card since Christmas and I've been sitting on it. First, I waited for the new iPhone release. Now I'm waiting for my girlfriend to decide what AT&T phone she wants to get (we have a family plan, and we're switching from Sprint, so I have to wait for her to be ready).

I've been wanting the iPhone for a year now, and I can't wait!!!

When I see an iPhone in the wild the first thought I have is "cool, an iPhone...I want one" and then I remember...I do have one

But it's still cool to see them - I've only seen a few on campus

Last year when I was going around with my original, first-gen iPhone it was rare that I'd run into anyone else with one.....this year several of my friends have gotten the 3G iPhone and when I'm out and about I often see others using one, too. The other day I was visiting a friend at a nursing home and spotted an iPhone in the hands of one of their staff members. He and I had fun comparing notes, especially seeing which apps each of us had. I truly get a kick out of seeing someone with an iPhone! I also am happy when I run into another Mac user, too.....

I live in NYC and I feel like I'm the only one without an iPhone (believe me I want one but can't afford the plan). Seriously I see them on the subway, the street, at the office, EVERYWHERE. So, yes you could say that I am bothered with envy.;)

I've only seen 4 in like a year. Three of them were owned by coworkers and one was a visiting friend.

To be honest, I hardly ever see them.

i actually like seeing other people with iphones. as much as i love my iphone, you have to realize that it is a LUXURY not a necessity. so when i see other people with it, i feel like im not the only one wasting money on something that i can live without.

I see them everywhere but it doesn't bother me because I still know that mine is one of a kind. Thank god for jailbreaking. But I really do enjoy seeing alot of them around unless the person using it doesn't know how to use the phone and complain about it never working for them.

Flamebait waiting to happen.

Go plant some Obama signs in your neighbors lawns and steal the McCain ones already.

Idiocy. Although by your signature that's not very surprising.

The only iPhone I've ever seen being used by someone was a first gen (obviously unlocked considering it wasn't ever officially available in Australia). The only iPhone 3G I've seen was a display one in a store which I played around with for five minutes. Apart from that, all I've seen is many, many iPhone 3G boxes in stores.

no, not at all.

it was cool for the first week or two when noone had them, but at this point im just using the phone because it's awesome. I think anyone who can afford it should.

Fact is it's still a pricy plan so although I do see them alot i can honestly say i see blackberrys on campus 100x more.

No. As an iPhone owner, I am happy to see other people enjoying this great product. Actually, I only know about 20 other people that have them. If you own an iPhone and are bothered by other people with iPhones, you have some serious issues with your ability to not be the center of attention all the time. As it is, I get about 5 comments a day from people on campus saying how cool it is and asking how it works. Again, it's nice to get some attention, but it's not the reason I bought the phone at all.

HAHA!! Perfect! LOL!

He says, "Hope!"
I say, "NOPE!!!"

300 million people in the United States. About 10 million have been sold worldwide. Pretend that all 10 million are in the US and 1 out of every 30 people has an iPhone. That means probably 25 have another type of cell phone and the other 4 are your grandparents who don't want any of that new-fangled touch tone dialing horse manure.

I know one person with an iPhone and three or four with some version of a BlackBerry. I'm not really concerned either way. I get more annoyed by the fact that nobody knows how to make a cheap-arse phone simple enough for non-techies so I don't have to be part of the Nerd Herd for my parents. Shoot, I'd pay the $200 if they didn't force you to have a data plan. My mom has enough trouble with "the e-mail" on a PC.

More iPhones = bigger market for apps and accessories = more choice = better for everyone, I think.

Doesn't bother me in the least. Glad more people can share in the experience. Other than a few friends, I never really saw 3Gs out there until I landed at Nice airport and then they seemed to be all over the place in there. There was someone who had something different — they had the old iphone!

If your from london and get on the tube in the morning you will see atleast 20 people using iPhones before you get to where you want to go. I know loads of people that have iPhones or want iPhones.

I share my office with 2 people, on my 1st day of th job I jailbroke both of there 3G's. They had no idea that the phone could do much more then it shows you on the adverts.

About 5/6 of my friends have 3G's

But to answer the question that the OP asked, no it doesn't bother me that so many people have iPhones. It does bother me however when people are trying to show of their iPhone when it isn't jailbroken  :p

i still think my 18 year old friend doesnt deserve an iphone. mother pays for it still. i dislike teenagers ask there parents to switch service or force upgrade there phones. its okay the parents to get an iphone, people with jobs. its not okay when they "kids" bitch about it.

sorrie it just irritates me most. .

unless they have a job and pay for it.

as for my working place, only me and this other person has an iphone (she doesnt have the 3g version.) two people has blackberries and one person has an nokia n95, and i the iphone headset. . yeah my coworkers thinks that im talking to myself. . yeah.

2 of my friends got iPhones, even after me telling them not to :p (after i sold my 1st Gen) i just ask them to bluetooth me a photo and get 'the look' lol, but yeah they are becoming more commonplace.
