I had to restore to 4.0.1 today because of some things I messed up on my phone, and I'm holding off on ultrasn0w until the battery issues are fixed with the latest mobilesubstrate as many are reporting and as I've experienced, but is it true as of the 6th (or recently) iTunes has blocked unlocks even after you JB and use ultrasn0w?

I really hope not :( I want to bring my iPhone 4 to Europe.

That didn't really answer my question.

Hmmm maybe it just breaks unlock if you activated with a "phonebook sim" using that hactivation type method, is that right?

iTunes by itself isn't the program that breaks the JB. It's the restore to 4.0.1 that did that. But, 4.0.1 came out before the JB did. So, you should still be able to jailbreak. But, since no one knows how Apple plans to fix the exploit that allows the jailbreak, you should still save your SHSH blobs with TinyUmbrella.

the current Itunes does not, but always wait and check with the Dev-team before updating any Itunes or updating firmware http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ or fallow @musclenerd @comex @planetbeing @chpwn @iphone_dev on twitter for fastest news before doing any updates. what ever you do don't accidentally update. ;)

Yeah I have SHSH blobs backed up but I just did a simple restore yesterday because I know it's still version 4.0.1. And I am jailbroken once again using jailbreakme.

I'm wondering if iTunes actually broke the ability to unlock... Anyone?

Something along those lines more specifically.
