    Hi,

When downloading trial type software, the software has to store information on my computer so it knows the date that I installed teh software so it can expire if I don't purchase it in time.

Is this information stored in a registry or does Mac Os have something else?

No, there is no registry. Each app has their own preference files which store all kinds of information but there is no system registry.

EXTREMELY happy! I hope to NEVER have to edit another Windows Registry in my life!
