    Hi guys,

Does my macbook support a maximum of 4gb RAM or 6gb RAM?

The website below says that it supports up to 4gb of RAM but further below it says that 3rd parties have been able to push that to 6gb of RAM.

My question is: Can I upgrade my macbook to 6GB and if so which exact kind of memory do I have to get? Some links to compatible RAM would be appreciated.

    I have Macbook late 2007 | Santa Rosa |120gb HDD | OS X Lion

    See specs here: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.2-white-13-late-2007-santa-rosa-specs.html

    Thanks :)

In fairness, you provided a link that showed that 6GB is unofficially supported. Then within that exact link they said that OWC sells memory and then they gave you a link to upgrades for that particular mac.

Is the link to upgrades for your model MacBook. You can buy memory from them with confidence. I believe you can push it to 6GB, as it states. Also, I'm sure these forums have evidence of upgrading the Santa Rosa MBs to 6GB.

In other words, you answered your own question. ;)

Some other thoughts on this or threads I should say that may be helpful:

    Thanks for the links/info.

From what I can tell, most people say its not worth the upgrade.

I guess I'll just do an SSD update to my macbook and that'll be all.

I'll close the thread now, thx again :)
