I know some notebooks like that from Sony's Vaio series have a battery care feature where by the computer only charges the battery either to 50% or 80% depending on what you set it too.

If your computer is plugged into the wall most of the time you're suppose to charge the battery to 50%. The battery care application then stops the computer from continuing to charge the battery once its 50% charged.

I'm wondering if the MacBook Pro has something similar to this.

Apple MBP Battery

The battery in the MacBook Pro notebooks is made to be smart. It’s built with a chip that talks to each of its cells to determine their precise condition. The chip shares this information with the computer. And the computer uses an advanced algorithm to make delicate adjustments to the charging current, varying it to suit the changing conditions inside the cells. This Adaptive Charging reduces the wear and tear on the battery and gives it a much longer lifespan up to five years. According to Apple.

But to answer the question no there is no app from Apple that would stop the charging to a users settings.
