Why would it scratch your phone? As long as you don't have any debris between the case and the phone when you put it on, you should be fine. The only complaints I usually hear about clear cases is that they yellow over time.

As with any case, the only things you have to worry about the debris that gets inside the case. Depending on if the case is soft or hard, the hard case can leave a mark if you constantly take it in and out of the case.
for $15 I like it ! has some minor cracks on the inner bottom part where its been removed several times from previous owner, but I expect that would happen over time anyways.And no cracks elsewhere. My XR did that too except more dramatic.
