Does Mini display port to Dual Link DVI adapter on 4870 work flawlessly?

that sucks. Apple is skimping on cable length to save a few $$? I hear people saying its short for the MBP owners and its (24" LED) is really only designed for the portables. wtf?

I know this is a super old thread but I just wanted to add something to this.

I bought the Dual-Link adapter a few days ago and I've found it works fine with my 3007WFP-HC (Standard 30" Monitor by Dell) and my February 09' 17" MacBook Pro.

I have no flickering, no white specks, no 'turns black for a second now and again' just works absolutely perfect. I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this and so many people are having problems so I just thought I'd mention that I'm having no problems with mine and I'm not even using an Apple Display.
