I have the ME294B/A RMBP, BT have just sent me a new 2.4/5GHz router also. I was wondering if my macbook supports the 5GHz spectrum and what if any are the benefits?

    Thanks.

Faster speeds on the network. You won't get faster internet speeds but data transfer between devices on the LAN will be faster
