Hi, does the most recent efi firmware make the macbook pro noisier? Do the thresholds for the fans change? Fan control program for mac doesn't seem to do anything.
I could be mistaken, though. I have the "older" penryn macbook pro, not the unibody one. I just don't recall it being this noisy.
I have inserted a 7200.3 Seagate drive, and my HD temps are like 52 C. Room temp is 26 C. Does a faulty hard drive trigger a fan? I thought that i was not supposed to trigger the fan at all; the HD just runs hot.
