Does new Magsafe charge faster than USB-C?

Does anyone know if the new Magsafe connectors are faster at charging than a UBS-C connection? It looks like the connection to the charger is still USB-C so are we still stuck with the 100 W USB-C limit?

from what I've read the 14 can fast charge via USB-C but the 16 can only fast charge via MagSafe ...

It will be faster than usb-c for sure. Apple wouldn’t include a 140w if the notebook wasn’t capable of using > 100w
