I also liked RadTech, bought the ScreenSavrz as well as Sleevz for both MacBook and iPod.

Anyway… When I realized they weren’t around — probably via the linked thread - I searched through Amazon for what looked like a decent budget brand. I ultimately landed on these:

The display protector ear liner is thin enough that I wouldn’t at all worry about display or hinge damage from pressure, but it feels plenty durable and soft.
The keyboard cover… Well… Honestly, at least for mine, it fits extremely well, very seamlessly, and stays fairly secure while typing.

I was genuinely surprised at the quality.

It’s so irritating when shipping is more than the item!!! I hope you like it.
Arrived today, seems simple enough. Covers screen, covers KB and soft side (lighter colour) toward screen.

Not only was the shipment more expense than the product, but the Germans stung me for import duties additionally - €10. I get shipment BUT how dare they do this (19%) for product+shipping as it spend its time mostly transit from one part of the US to another. There was obviously a component from the US to Frankfurt>Berlin>to local. This part has always irked me.

Looks like I can finally put away Apple's wafer sheet that I'm constantly saving from inside wind.

good to hear. I do have an observation from mine, again it's the first one I've bought, I just cleaned the screen and the top portion of the screen had a hazy film across the top. it was easy to clean, but I am not sure if came from the clothe or not. I have only been using it a couple of weeks. Let me know if this happens to you, I will do the same if it comes back in the next month.

Yes pls do...and I'll do the same. I generally have the MBP sitting open on the couch nearly 99% of the time, so this was really something for when closed inside a laptop bag. It gave me a chance to clean some huge marks off the screen today as I'm really trying to minimise cleaning it. Note: back in 2023, after 3 months in on using, the screen had some noticeable pitting. Due to a severe accident all but the lower cover was replaced with AC+. This screen seems not to have any such issues at all.

My expectations of the Shaggy product are a bit mixed. It came rolled up and I did "think" it would have more of a "formed" and flat, solid, substance to it. The side that faces the screen appears more oily than a soft suede finish. Let's see how we go. Glad you managed to get the film like residue off it and wonder why it only seemed to affect the top part of the screen, where the least (in theory) pressure point would be.

I use it almost the same way as you. I do tend to use it when I shutdown for the day. My last couple of MacBooks had keyboard imprints or the line between keyboard and trackpad would leave a mark that couldn't be removed. SO I had to do something besides using the paper Apple ships, since that doesn't last too long. The price of these Pros make me want to keep it in the past condition as possible.

Now, I think maybe when I am charging and the cloth is being used, the heat from the battery could have helped leave something on the screen. Since that's the area with the residue on the display. So, I will not charge like that again.

I basically invoked the MBP to sleep, lid closed with cloth in between whilst at work for the first time. Had some worry in case of the heat bit you mention but also use AlDente so the MBP didn't really need to charge.

But yes, that last screen that was replaced really had me worried with all that pitting and so I'm really trying to keep cleaning to an absolute minimum. So closing the lid whilst away does make me feel better having a cloth in between. Mind you the splatters/ droplets that end up there are (obviously) from using it. Random coughs, sneezes, etc.

Just found this thread - was playing with their website 2 weeks ago, placed items into cart to finalize the payment next day only to be greeted by blank screen and error 503…

Been using their covers on laptops and external monitors (ACD, NEC and Eizo) along with keyboard covers, replacement feet, ex’s iBook port covers, iPod / iPhone 30 pin covers etc since my first MacBook Pro 17” from late 2006.

Found some leftover stock in Asia but while the store allowed me 3 pieces, they wrote later that had only 1 in stock and said they’ll check with Radtech… told them great, do that and let me know if you hear back from them, but in the meantime give me refund and ship the items 😀

My uppercase keyboard cover order got lost by Amazon, so thanks for the alternatives you guys posted here!

Yeah, it stinks. Nothing on their website would leave you believe that they are out of biz except that when you put an order through, it never processes.

I had two of the keyboard screensaverz cloths and need more.

It’s unfortunate that no one else manufactures one that precisely covers only the keyboard

Agreed! I still have some unopened monitor / laptop cover at home in storage, will check the label for details if there’s any clues about manufacturing but I find it extremely weird that nobody would pick up their business and continue. Their stuff wasn’t exactly cheap but was well designed (now I regret not getting the jaguar pattern cover) and lasted for years. In an age when laptops are main machines for most people with right media push they ought to be swimming in cash.

I’m going to test the other companies mentioned here, but I’ll miss Screensavrz for sure :(
