i just would like to know if repair permissions even works in 10.5.2.. This is ridiculous and apple should fix this immediatly. Has anybody gotten it to work?

What do you mean?

Of course it works. It compares the current permissions for system files with the defaults in its database and corrects the errors.

It doesn't take THAT long. Not as quick as in Tiger, but I've run repair permissions twice in 10.5.2, after the initial update and again after the Leopard Graphics update.

how often do yall run repair permissions, Ive just started to use it and im just wandering what yall recommend? Thanks

Not that often. Just after installing some big software or an update or something. Unless you're noticing something wanky going on, there's not much reason to do it more than one a week or once a month. But it's a good idea to do it after software updates and installations.
