I was messaging with some friends on Adium and I couldn`t see their cameras neither them could see mine.
Does skype offer this?
Thanks!

Of course, Skype doesn't have MSN support.
If you were looking for an MSN Messenger with an integrated webcam function, aMSN does the trick.

You are thinking MSN Messenger. Skype does have iSight support. Messenger on the other hand lacks that and is IMO 7 years behind what its Windows counterpart is at.

Agreed, Microsoft clearly don't think Mac users deserve programs as updated as theirs, with MSN and WMP as examples. Unlike Apple, with iTunes, Safari, Quicktime all at exactly the same standard...

They did release a beta version which IMO, looks more like "here! see? we are working on iSight support, we don't promise release anytime soon though"

Mercury Messenger is a MSN messenger replacement that's supposed to support iSight. I haven't tried it, so YMMV

It would be nice if skype could support MSN contacts...
Or maybe I can hope for adium to support iSight at some point in a future update. Whichever comes first

try the mebeam xtra for adium. its not a plugin, but adds a line in the shell for the right click menu that sat says initiate mebeam videochat. Your browser opens a window that accesses your webcam and the other person opens that window too, you look at each other in the browser. Its cumbersome, but it gets the job done. I had to change the selected camera in the settings of video box.
