Does SMC Fan Control work on your 21.5" iMac?

Does SMC Fan Control work on your 21.5" iMac? I have a base model (the latest one) 21.5" iMac and SMC fan control doesn't seem to work. It simply reads "0 degrees C".

I don't think its that, because I installed it on a friend's iMac (that is identical to mine) for him and it didn't work either. The chances are of both having faulty sensors are slim. Oh, and when I installed SMC fan control it came up with a message saying "SMC fan control has not been tested on this Mac".

It always reads that error report, but it should work.
 
works on mine, mabe you have installed software or other fan control software that is conflicting with it?
 
Why would you want to use SMC Fan Control in the first place? My mid-2010 21" iMac hardly gets warm to the touch.

I'm just interested to see what temps it gets to. Even when I do intensive things the fans don't come on, even though they do on my 13" MBP, although the exhaust vent can get pretty hot... I guess the iMacs have better cooling systems than the 13" MBPs since they are larger and have bigger vents and more powerful fans.
 
Have you tried rebooting? It was having issues on my MB before I rebooted, then it worked just fine. I haven't installed it on my 21.5" yet.
 
The restarting didn't work for SMC fan control, however iStat Pro seems to work 🙂
