Does Snow Leopard Add Programs or just Upgrade?

I bought a used Macbook Pro about a year ago, and it came with Leopard (10.5.6) on it. One thing I noticed though was that it didn't have many of the programs that I believe are standard, such as iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, etc.

I'd like to get these programs on my computer, and I am hoping that the Snow Leopard update will do this. Can someone confirm this? I heard that the $29 pre-order on Apple.com is just an update, and that is why it is so cheap, but I'm wondering if it will add these programs to my MBP since I don't have them now.

    Thanks!

The $29 SL does not install iLife (the collective bundle of the apps you're missing). The $169 version does.

Did the machine come with gray Install Discs? The missing apps are on Disc 2, if you have them. If not, you can call Apple and get them for ~$35. Those discs may have iLife 6 or '08 on them though.
