iPod touch Does Square (CC Reader) work with iPT?

I'm getting mixed answers about using Square CC reader with the iPT. Some answers say yes it will work with a WiFi connection at the time of the transaction. Others say you need GPS to transact.

Anyone know for sure if iPT will work with WiFi and NO GPS?

looks like it only works with the latest iPT. It requires ios7 and my iPT doesn't support that 😡

Does anyone know of a different payment device that'll work with an older version of iOS?
