Does Such a Thing Exist? Storage shells

Hard to describe, but is this a thing? A hard shell case which is maybe 5mm thick on the base, but contains SSD storage?

Yeah no that doesn’t exist, afaik, where would the connection go, ur next best thing is a small thumb drive that’s always plugged into one of the USB port, I had one of these for years and it works fine for my need
