Hi There,

I Switch off the phone before going to bed every night and turn it on in the morning as i am not worried about missing any important calls while i am asleep. I know we can keep the phone in DND or silent or keep in airplane mode but for some reason i like turning it off .
Does this have any effect(good/bad) on battery or processor as phone is booted every day in morning ? Just curious to know.

Thank you, Good day.

Switching your iPhone off every night will have minimal impact on its longevity and battery health.

My iPhone 13 is currently on 182 days uptime and it still has 99% battery health (it was brand-new in April 2023).

iPhones are designed to be switched on 24/7. I put mine in flight mode overnight and it uses minimal power.

182 days uptime? it would surely be strained, i would restart at least once a month...

People, you need to restart your phone once in a while to keep it in optimal condition. You’d be amazed the number of issues that can be resolved by restarting the device.

Yep, and the fact they are bragging about it…
He even commented on someone’s post he gets stuttering from time to time, no wonder

It's effects on battery would probably be negligible. From what I've read the biggest killer of battery longevity is heat and low and high states of charge.

I restart mine with every iOS update, so once every few weeks. It's on charge overnight so there would be zero difference if it were turned off.

One drawback to it being off, is national weather service alerts.

How long do you wanna keep your phone for? I’ve got 87% battery life left on my iPhone 12 Pro and I don’t turn it off as you are asking. Just once in a great while and my phone is almost 4 years old. I’ve seen others last longer without doing anything of the sort. I charge mine each and every day using a mag charger too. I don’t go through some of the extremes as others have, specially if I’m gonna turn it in after four or five years.
