I'm looking to buy a new ATV4 as ours has just died but I never tried to utilise two accounts on the machine to see if the 90 day lock between transfers applies as I know with the MacBook, iPad and iPhone there is a 90 day lock when going between accounts and downloading purchases but I'm not sure about the ATV and I would like to know before I buy a new one or if I should just go for an Android TV device which I can switch countries through VPN (similar to the Android phone).

Does anyone know?

I haven't tried it myself, but this support article appears to indicate that only computers and iOS devices are "associated" with an Apple ID. This makes sense to me, since you cannot download iTunes content to an ATV4. Apple TVs also don't show up in the list of associated devices in iTunes.

That is a fantastic question. I believe the previous poster is correct, but have never tested/had issue with this on AppleTVs. Awaiting a more definitive answer.

We use two accounts on ATV3 and there is no lock. Can't speak for ATV4 but it would be a deal breaker for me if there is a lock. It's bad enough there is one on iPad.
