Just got it yesterday and I was wondering does the Apple light up like it does on an iBook?

No...would be cool though (if it was dim enough not to be distracting and it was user-controllable).

Nope - no reason to. It wouldn't really be cool if you're watching a movie/DVD - the reason the Apple lights up on iMacs/iBooks is because the lit display is "lighting" the apple on the back - as well as because the apple is not facing the viewer. It's a distraction, especially if you're doing video/graphics work. This is why most new plasma/LCD displays have a tiny power light (if any light at all) on them.

It hides yer infrared sensor, so it's kinda light related if not visible...
...and it sucks rather than blows as it were
