Cant actually find a clear answer.. if I record a video on my 7 plus in 4k can I stream it in 4K to the new Apple TV ? Or if I have a 4K movie on my MPB can I stream that to the new Apple TV in 4K ???

Does the Apple TV 4K do 4K airplay streaming ?

It should play in 4K from the photos app on the ATV, if using iCloud.
As far as airplay goes, AirPlay 2 has not been released yet, coming in future software updates, I’m pretty sure AirPlay 2 is designed for 4K, not just multiple speakers. I can’t find specs as it’s not released yet. ...The current version of airplay is limited to 1080p.

It seems that the photos App from the Apple TV 4K does not support 4K. I posted a thread for this problem.
But is this statement specifically talking about "Memories" or does it include Memories, Photos, Videos, etc. I'm sure photos wouldn't scale up and would show crisp—but I'm now not sure at all about 4K videos.

The new format also didn't work. I have tested it. Same here. Recorded with iPhone 7 Plus in 4K with new high format...but the Apple TV 4K only shows it in HD...in bad HD

Tested AirPlay from a macOS High Sierra Retina MacBook Pro, it only offers 1080p maximum. And it's choppier than 1080p AirPlay to a *THIRD* generation AppleTV! (The shorter, pre-apps model.)
