does the GPU matter if i won't be playing games?

about to go out and buy a new 15". i dont really wanna pay an extra 400 for the better GPU if i'll never use it. I use photoshop and illustrator heavily, but never play games on my mac. should i just go with the base 15"?

If you don't plan on playing any games, or future-proofing your laptop, then don't spend the extra $400. The standard 6490m should be good enough for your needs, as the cpu is what is being taxed on those programs more than the gpu.

If you intend on playing games, then get the 6750m.

Does Flash 10.2 have hardware acceleration?(can't remember) I would assume that they would go towards the direction of using the GPU more, but as of now I think its more CPU.

Either way, they're all basic enough that any of the GPU/CPU combos could easily run them.

Only with NVidia 9400M, 320M or 330M GT.
