Does the Imac use the same RAM as the macbook?

I purchased a black MacBook when they first came out with intel. I believe it is a Core Duo not Core 2 Duo... My Imac I bought when they first came out with the silver casing Core 2 Duo. Could I take the ram out of my macbook and use it in my Imac?
