Does the internet work fine on an unlocked i phone?

I unlocked my i phone and put it on tmobile but my internet or aim doesn't work anywhere where there isn't a wi=fi connection anyone can help?

You can't use data with T-Mobile.

3G, at least.

Different protocol, I believe. People have tried; I don't know how well that's going.

My iPhone 3G is unlocked on Tmobile, you will not get 3G because of the different frequencies, but you will get EDGE. I can't say EDGE is really slow where I live.
