In a respected German publication dated Oct 2019 it was reported that the wi-fi performance was measured to be poor.

I realize this may be due to a bad sample or that any real issue has since been corrected but I do wonder if there's still a problem. Can anyone shed any light on this subject? Thanks!

Somewhere!
I own a 7th gen. I have struggled with slow speeds over WiFi since buying it. I know it’s the iPad as all my other devices work flawlessly with my setup. I have tried everything including starting over with a complete reset. This could just be my iPad.

You could always return it within 14 days if you end up buying one.

If wi-fi is slower, I don't really notice since I'm bottlenecked by my internet connection anyway (200 Mbps).

Wi-Fi on my iPad 7 doesn't appear to be any slower or less stable compared to my other iPads.

It would be helpful if you could Google 'Speed Test' and run it against your iPads including your iPad 7 and see if the numbers are similiar. Thanks!

Unless one has gigabit internet, that's more a benchmark of internet speed, not max device wi-fi speed. As I already mentioned, my internet's capped at 200 Mbps and all my latest iPads can handle that fine, including the iPad 7.

Any place but here or there....
The only times I have WiFi issues are when neighbors are on broadband (And we‘re bounced offline], or I am in the same room with several other iDevices on WiFi.

My 7th gen 2019 has been the most stable and pleasant iPad to use.

I have not had a problem with WiFi on my 7th gen. The only iPad I had WiFi issues with was the air 2.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought an iPad 7 with good news to report: the Google speed test shows the wifi thru-put working better than both of our two older iPad Air units. Thanks to all for the responses to my query!
