Does the iPad ship with a redesigned USB cable?

I was watching the CNET unboxing video and noticed that the cable looked a little bit different then the ones that have shipped with recent iPods.

I just used the cable that came with the iPhone and it charges and syncs just fine.

The USB end is slightly different.

Yeah, its more boxed off than curved like all the others. Thats the first thing i noticed when i pulled it out

My iPad USB cable looks exactly like the one that came with my iPod and iPhone.

It is definitely more boxy than the old cables. Also it feels much stiffer and more rubbery.
