I know the iPhone 3G supports iOS 6 - but does the iPhone 3 support it, too?

There is no iPhone 3, only the 3G and 3GS. iOS 6 is not compatible with the 3G, only the 3GS and later.

What the above poster said. The iPhone 3G will work on up to iOS 4. The 3GS (the 3rd iPhone but not called iphone 3) will work on iOS 6.

My sister still has a 3G, I think you can go up to iOS 4.2.1

There's very few apps she can still use now.
