For those who have the iPhone 8, does wireless charging work when the phone is facing down (screen touching the table)? I use a sleep tracking app called sleep cycle which requires the phone to be facing down at night and I am wondering if I'll be able to wireless charge it. Thanks!

Just taking a guess, since the charging coil is right behind the glass on the back I don’t think you would be able to charge facing down. The further the coils are away from each other ( the one in the phone and there one in the base) the less current is going through them.

That's what I was thinking too, but wireless charging does work with most cases which shows that the current is capable of getting through thick materials.

No chance. There are multiple layers of metal and silicone between the coil and the front panel.
