Does the iPhone / iOS make wallpapers look worse?

Every time I see the iPhone X in videos the screen looks so good that it almost looks like it’s one of those fake dummy model screens. Like stuff is printed on the screen. But on mine I’ll be looking at the home screen wondering why colors don’t look as good. But I think I’ve spotted part of the problem.

Either the iPhone or iOS is making wallpapers less colorful and detailed when turning them into wallpapers I think. Does anyone know for sure?

Hmm I would guess it stays the same but who knows. Your pics don’t look THAT different to my eyes. I do notice that the ads for iPhone X, it looks AMAZING. But I would imagine that’s jus getting the lighting exact etc

I’m talking about seeing it in videos in reviews or just regular videos like iOS update reviews and such. Not super fancy ads. And the difference isn’t massive, just annoying and I couldn’t tell if I was imagining it.
