I have 4.1...total stock that has the little battery graphic in the upper right corner showing the battery levels, even when most apps are running.

Read the whole thread...everyone has the battery graphic, some want a % of battery left

Gonna try this out and see if it works. This battery percent has been bugging me since I got my itouch.

I did read it all.....I did not get to see "everyone's" IPT. When I look at mine and the graphic is about half full I know that I have about 50% left. If it is 3/4 empty then I know I have about 25% remaining. Why would you need it converted to numerals to be effective?

Well, my true story, I remember that my iPod had jailbroken and install a plugin to show battery percentage. But one day my iPod can't access the system, and then I upgraded to ios 4.2.1. You know what, when I open my iPod with new system, it can show the percentage automatic. But when I downgraded it to ios 4.1, the percentage disappeared:eek:

I beg to differ

None of the iPod touches have the battery indicator. For whatever reason, Apple thought it would be better on the iPhone, which is stupid.

So, unless you know the plist file or have your iPod jailbroken, there's no way to get the battery indicator.

You acualy can get the battery percentage on ipod touch 4g. All you have to do is go into Cydia and search for sbsettings and download it then go to settings and click activator then click on the anywhere button then click double press for home button. Now double click home button and click more. Now scroll down to system options and click on it and now switch numeric battery to on. Thats it now there should be percent by your battery.

I don't even like the battery percentage indicator. I removed it on both my iPod Touch and iPhone. I felt like I was constantly watching the number drop and I wasn't actually enjoying the device.

Would love for someone to point out where it is found. On the IP4 it's under General/Usage, but IPT4 doesn't have a usage tab obviously.

thats cuz you have to go to system/library/coreservices/springboard.app/(n72ap for iPod touch 2g, or n81ap.plist for 4g, don't know 3g) and open it and add and turn on the boolean gas-gauge-battery

In iOS5.0 it's right there in Settings>General>Usage.

That's weird that the % doesn't show up. Granted I am jailbroke and in SBSettings I used its % indicator initially, but then found that on/off in the settings pages. I turned SB's version off and turned the one in iOS settings on. Maybe the JB added it to the .plist file. (?) BTW I did all the battery-% stuff before restoring from backup.
