Does the MacBook Air have its name engraved on the base like the MBP?

Yes, as with any Mac. There is some manufacturer's ID information, such as the model number, and serial number.
Also, a few icons and markings, that may be required by government. No actual name, however.
(I call my MBAir "Fritzi", but I have not chosen to engrave that name on the bottom.

The name, such as MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro, used to appear at the bottom edge of the screen, but Apple stopped doing that about 3 years ago. Now there is no identifying name below the screen, just the required marking on the laptop bottom case.
I bet your MacBook Pro is older than 2022. Newer models don't show the model name at the bottom of the display.

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro have the name engraved on the bottom of the base.
Ah, OK. I think that demonstrates that I do not currently have an M-series laptop, and realize that I was posting from ignorance....
