Does the MBP support anything greater than 1600x1200

Does the MBP support anything greater than 1600x1200 WITHOUT their dual DVI miniport adapter.

I am trying to use my Eizo 30" screen via their standard DVI adapter --- and it will only go up to 1600x1200 resolution. The cable I'm using is a *quality* dual link Gefen DVI cable.

Any ideas...

A cable is a cable; there's no "quality", and you need a dual-link for a reason. You can't do 2650x1600 with single-link.
