iPad Pro Does the new iPad Pro have WiFi 6?

People are saying that the WiFi is faster, but no mention of WiFi 6.

Yes, new models come with WiFi 6 support. Actually it’s the only improvement over the last generation, IMHO. Plus the updated on base storage, of course.

I’m an 11” iPad Pro user. After using 64GB model over a year, I’ve recently upgraded to a 256GB model and I’m staying for good. For my usage scenario, I don’t think this a new generation. It’s more of a makeup.

The cameras are a physical improvement that can’t be denied if you plan on using them or not. I don’t care for it at all but it still is an improvement.

just remember if you dont have a wifi 6 AP, you wont see speed improvements on the new 2020 IPP. that is unless the spatial streams increased while on AC then maybe. (I will have to check that out when mine comes in)

nope not really it all depends on what the client supports for speeds and spacial streams and what the AP (or router ) supports for the same. for example the 2018 IPP supports wifi 5 (aka 802.11.ac) so even with a wifi 6 (802.11ax) it will only ever get as fast as the least common one. in my example thats the IPP so even with wifi 6, the IPP 2018 will only get wifi 5 speeds.

now lets take that the other way, you have a 2020 IPP with wifi 6 but your connecting to a AP thats wifi 4 (802.11n). in that case you will never get faster than 802.11n.

My note 10+ uses WiFi 6 and providing you are using a compatible router (ax) the difference in speed is amazing, particularly web browsing. Pages are up & rendered in a blink. There are still some apps that I can’t tell if there is any difference at all though. Mostly social stuff. They are quick enough, just don’t seem to be any quicker than my standard WiFi.
