Just for the record, NRC now supports always-on display since October 2021 or so.

I'm in the same boat, basically have used NRC for years but most of my friends use Strava... so I'd like to sync my runs to Strava but as people above pointed out it's a pain to export the data from NRC.

So can someone reconfirm if RunGap in fact works well for that purpose nowadays?

I posted a reply in your other thread with a question about this, but I just wanted to reply here as well in case anyone searches this in the future. Nike does have partners that you can sync with. Garmin & Polar are the 2 I remember, but there are others. I don't remember if it syncs your entire history (I kind of feel like it does, but I may have extracted my history using another method before Nike changed their methodology).

I think it's worth setting up that partner data for every Nike Run Club user since it's really the only main running app that doesn't allow clean exports. You never know what's gonna happen with it (like when they got rid of their website).

Personally, I use the Apple workouts app & pay Run Gap the $8/year (I kind of feel like they raised the price to $10 or $11 recently for the swag bag syncing, but I don't recall for sure) to sync with all of the other services that I want to be on. I don't care for subscriptions, but this is the best option for me & it's worked reliably for several years now. One note, if you use run gap, make sure that you set most services to received at a only. If you happen to sync your data from nike to Garmin & Polar, then use run gap & have all three services set to import, you will end up with 3 copies of each run on each service.

Thanks for your suggestion. Yeah, RunGap's yearly subscription for Swag Bag now seems to be 10.99 EUR.

I tried installing and linking Garmin & Polar apps with NRC but no runs have synced, so it seems it won't work for the previous workouts. I assume if all goes well, it should then start syncing the runs from this point on?

Another question I have is: if after each run NRC syncs the data with Garmin and Polar, and then these two upload to Strava, will that result in triple or quadruple workout data in my iPhone Fitness app??

For example, I noticed that if I manually insert a workout into e.g. Strava after completing the workout in another app, Apple will count it as a double workout...

That stinks. If that's the case, then mine must have synced via RunGap. I was in the same boat a couple of years ago & ended up getting everything to sync out of NRC. I still keep my data in there because I'm at the black level & would love to hit volt someday, and RunGap allows me to keep that going without being locked into the app & it's only a few $/year

I'm not 100% sure about syncing to Strava, but if you're willing to pay the $ for RunGap, you can set up each account as one that is a data source and/or a data destination. In my case, since I use the Apple workout app as my primary source, I have that set up as the source and all other accounts, including Strava, set up as destinations, and it all works flawlessly.

Just a follow-up on my last post. I did some more reading this afternoon & if you just want to use Strava & NRC, then you should be able to get away with just buying the shortest (3 month, one month, whatever) Run Gap subscription. Use it to extract your NRC History (Can't guarantee that this works, but it did for me in the past) and import that into Garmin or Strava if you can. I seem to recall that there's a limit to how far back Rungap will export data (maybe 30,60 or 90 days). Once you have that data pushed into Garmin. Then I would turn off RunGap & connect Garmin to Strava (I saw online that you can do it from the Strava app.

Since you already synced NRC to Garmin, you should be good to go with any runs done in NRC showing up in Strava going forward (and also vice-versa). With this, you should be able to keep your data in NRC, but also be able to track the same data in Strava.

To answer a question you had earlier (I know you already answered it, but in case anyone searches for this later), no you don't need a Garmin or Polar device to set up those nike partner accounts.

Thanks for the follow-up.

I also did some research yesterday, and as for RunGap, yes, I too was thinking if I were to only sync history from NRC to Strava, I'd buy the 3-month subscription (I believe only 3-month and annual subscriptions are an option) and sync it via RunGap.

But as far as NRC & Garmin syncing, it will reportedly only sync workouts done in Garmin to NRC but not vice-versa. I have yet to test if finishing a run in NRC would actually sync with Garmin now that I linked both accounts, but this is what I found online by digging around a bit. Since it's not mentioned on Strava's support site as one of the possible workarounds, I'm having doubts about it, though.

Btw, I tried RunGap without the Swag Bag (just to link it with NRC and see how many runs it would find) and it seems to have imported *all* of my runs from NRC to RunGap, dating back to Jan 2018, when I first registered on NRC!

Maybe I’ll eventually bite the bullet and just get the subscription to upload my runs to Strava via RunGap.

That stinks. Now that I think about it, I've only synced that way (from Apple Workouts app to Nike, through Garmin). Interesting & good to know!

Glad to hear that you got all of the data out. Now you can sync it to any service you want. Glad to hear that the export is still working.

Yeah, but to export it from RunGap I’ll need to get the Swag Bag subscription… :)

Just a quick follow-up: I did a run with NRC today and it didn't export it to Garmin or Polar apps, even though they were linked with NRC. So apparently you can indeed only export runs done in Garmin or Polar to NRC and not vice-versa. I deleted both Garmin and Polar apps now.
