Just wondering, will the notch show up in AirPlay sessions too? I can't seem to find any documentation on this so far

No it does not. The “notch” is just an area of missing display pixels. The graphics are always fully rendered, as you can see by taking a screenshot.

Nope, it doesn’t even show up in screenshots, so when my phone looks like this:

Why the heck would the notch show up on airplay sessions?!

Thanks; had to confirm that it won't show up as I don't have a device with a notch to test with

In case the previous reply did not answer your question...no.

Thanks for the confirm!

Thanks, I had to ask as aside from not having such a device to test with, I noticed that apps have their content go to the notch too and was wondering what would happen during AirPlay/screenshot.

Thanks! This helps me visualise the issue. Looks like the notch area would simply use the color of the notches?

It would be pretty hilarious if your TV had a massive notch during AirPlay.

I was indeed worried about that! Glad that now I can just laugh at it since you guys confirmed it :D

I really wish it showed up. How else would other people know that you're using an iPhone to play something to the tv. Very un apple-like to not have it during airplay
