I'm confused why the white macbook has a 2.1 chip and the aluminum macbook (base) has a 2.0 chip?

Also, Didn't the last series of white macbook have speed that go up to 2.4? Why is the new alum macbook base model have a 2.0 chip? Isn't this going backwards?

The alu macbook has a 2.0 and 2.4 option. The white MB is 2.1 because this was the stock they had. However, you'll find the white mb 2.1 runs slightly slower or at least has lower geek bench scores than the 2.0 alu mb.

Nothing is going backwards actually.

is the chip in the aluminum macbook (2.0) a newer technology than the previous white macbook (2.1)?
