I got my 12" Pbook in September too. I 've since added another 256Mb RAM, an Airport Extreme card, upgraded to Panther ( truly love it), and Ilife 2004.

I don't care what other people say. Macs are built better, they are more stylish, and the OS is more stable (due to Unix underneath)and the GUI is very nice looking too. They don't get VIRUSES nearly as much as Winblows!

Wow factor is still there 100% with my PowerBook (12"). I got it in September and it's just as good as it ever was. Of course, I've since upgraded to Panther but Apple keeps on coming out with new stuff, so it always feels 'new'. And no other notebook computer comes close in terms of style or ease of use! Everyone around me thinks WOW! but then they don't ever want to get a Mac because "it won't be compatible"  :(

Enjoy your PowerBook :p

The wow factor eventually goes away, after about 5 or more years.

But after 5-6 years it's probably time for a new Mac anyway so you get to be wowed again by the new hardware.

Nice to see that I'm not alone in feeling a tiny little twinge of awe every time I use my own computer. An apple user for 18 years and counting, I've been saying "wow" the whole time.

And I've got to admit, every time I run my hand across the top of my G5 (it's right beside my desk, and yes, I stroke it periodically--the cool, matte aluminum just feels so nice), or look at how elegant OSX has become with 10.3, I emit a tiny little "wow" inside.

This is coming from someone who fixes computers--including Macs--for a living!

Oh how I long to stroke my non-existent PowerMac G5.....please update them at the beginning of march Apple, please.

Even relatively old Macs are classy. I still marvel at the sleek industrial design of the Bronze Keyboard Powerbook G3s. One of the greatest things about Macs is how they're still classy, no matter what the specs. An old PC is not nearly as useful as an old Mac.
