That's not what I meant. What I'm saying is if you don't realize it and sit down out of habit there is a possibility that the plus could bend especially if you accident sit down hard with the plus vertical in your pocket.

The question is... 'Is there that possibility?' I would say a definite yes.

Would you sit down hard with a long knife vertically in your pocket?

common sense needed!!

people have spent years in years with the smaller iPhones and think they don't need to adjust to the new bigger iPhone.

People have been using 5 inch and above screen size phones for a few years now and they happily go in peoples pockets. Why would common sense suggest this one needs to be treated differently?

i know at least 2 people at my work that have the Note and every time they sit down in meetings for example take their phones out of their pockets and put them on the table.....

coincidence!!

----------

Excuse the blindness of the mindless sheep that are still in the denial stage. Your phone is obviously bent.

the shadow on that photo on the back of the phone including on his finger is also normal???

Of course. Because it doesn't feel comfortable in their trousers, not because its going to bend. I've had 5.5 inch phones and sometimes I put it on the desk and sometimes leave it in my pocket, depends how it feels. My current phone is 4.6 inch and I often take it out just cos its handier to have on the table, even though its footprint is similar to a 5s.

Its not a reason or excuse for a phone bending. People report bends even when it felt comfortable in their pockets. If a phone is fragile and can't be pocketed then fine but at least it should come with a warning.

Hi guys does this phone look bent? Paranoid a little about it getting bent :(

I suggest you email the picture to Tim Cook.

They'll probably give you a new phone and a free leather case to apologize ...

Once you get the case, pour lots of water over it. It will then show blisters. Send a picture to Tim Cook. You'll get another case, and a free phone with it to apologize.

Or ... just sit down, relax, and enjoy your phone which is perfectly fine.

- Fake ones - no idea which ones you mean, this is new nonsense on your part.

Oh, you dont' know what I mean.....hahaha how convenient!!
yeah fake ones like this tweeked photo:
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/20039731/

- Bent on purpose - again you have no proof whatsoever any were bent on purpose, you just assume as the prospect of an apple defect upsets you.

so you're saying that this:

are all accidental pocket bends??

demo phones in stores??

Lewis's phone he bent on youtube?

that's a total of 9 (NINE) bent phones you're accounting as accidental damage when they were clearly bent on purpose.

that's why we call your website a farce!

- Bent during a MTB fall - the one he means came through twitter and no mention of MTB fall anywhere with that, maybe posted about somewhere else, dunno .. most phones don't bend.

Oh really!!???

Wow! thanks for the promotional work.

Your first 'tweeked' one is not even on my site, someone posted a photoshop here and therefore that is somehow something to do with me?

As I stated, most of the store bends all came in from other users and before any of the media about the kids bending them on purpose in the apple store came out. Store display units get a hell of a lot of usage so while we are unsure whats causing these bends there is no evidence any of them were done on purpose. You have no idea how the store units are stored or how many are carried in pockets by staff during the days while being demonstrated. You just assume they were done deliberately. Never seen any other demo phones bent on display before. Saying that, we try to label where we can to avoid confusion and now that a couple of cases of deliberate bending have occurred perhaps a note should be added to the store bends.

Mentioned before that Lewis's phone had a very minor curve before being deliberately bent. It's on the post.

As for the MTB one I'm not seeing this conversation thread on the tweet nor did I see it before. But thanks for pointing it out. I'll keep it up I think on the basis that it demonstrates the fragility from the 5s. I'll post your screen grab with it though for clarity and so that no one is confused. Thanks for that.

So, overall then we are doing ok if you only take exception to a few of them. We have 46 more then that you are happy are not controversial. And please remember we are not doing science here, any of these could be done on purpose but the majority of these users seem pretty pissed off that it has happened. Overall I think though that it looks like these phones bend much much easier than other phones.

it just shows that some of your posted cases of bent phones can be also faked photos exactly like the one on that thread...but you post them as "fact"

there is no evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9U-NmsgCO8

yeah right!!

Because you have just realised Photoshop exists then all photos are now faked?

The kids bending phones are not on my site.

Actually I can't see the tweet, it says 'can't retrieve tweet at this time' but I am on my ipad so I'll try again on computer later. Either way I do believe you, and therefore will use your screen grab.

And as for 10 million users coming through my site... I think not. But as I have said we will keep collecting and time will tell if this is just a non issue or if a real problem exists.

Here is my space grey with a new gold fresh out of a box

you're holding the phones at an angle.
hard to see anything and not discount it as illusion from optics

as said hundreds of times on here put the phones flat on a table with screen down and try rock them.....

cut the crap. we all know you're scouring the internet for cases.
you take them from Instagram, twitter, MR forum and Reddit....

Unless then bend is the same on both sides and it makes a tent. But that is clear to see as well when the screen light comes on.

50/50 really, as I said we are collecting to see if it a real issue or not. Time will tell.

Instead of the OP posting dozens of photos of the same thing why oh why haven't you made a video of you trying to rock the phone on a flat surface???

Haha, it was 'pics or it didn't happen' before. Now its 'video or it didn't happen'. Once you discover After Effects its going to mean they have to post then to you.

I will try to get a video too.

Here better shots.

since it's clear that photos can be tweaked and on this photo there's a clear optics illusion and a "weird" shadow at the back of the phone https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/20036360/

and the OP has already posted 10 photos then yeah a video is much better...

But remember even if it wobbles on the video he could just have blue tack stuck under a corner of the screen to make it wobble :p

Just trying to help you find your next excuse.
