Does this technology exist?

I'm kinda wondering...


Like.. some sort of a unit that can 'scan' the air and detect what organism are in?

Or this is too science fiction-ish.

Things like this exist, but only for small samples of air. They also can only detect and identify simple organisms.

im actually fairly certain that this technology has been invented!!

sorta like how they have those drug swabs, they chuck it in the machine and it tells you what drugs you have on you (if any).
