I setup for the first time my time capsule yesterday and saw it's halfway done for my new imac which has 200GB OS's backup. During the backup, I should have modified and changed some setting for my wifi (like 5ghz to 2.4ghz etc). When I checked my time capsule again, I cannot see if the backup was done. So, I pressed option & select my time capsule and selecting "verify backup", there is no backup there.

1) Does time capsule resumes backup if the wifi is interrupted?

2) does it back up during imac's sleep mode?

1) I'm not sure if it resumes backup or starts over; it may depend on circumstances or other technical limitations.
2) Go to System Preferences -> Energy Saver and see if you've ticked the "Enable Power Nap" checkbox. If you have, it should perform backups even though the machine is sleeping (provided it's new enough to support the feature).
