Does U.S. .mac work in UK?

If i was to buy .mac off ebay from the U.S., would i be able to use the activation code for a UK account?

I assume there would be no problem, but i need to check these things first!

Does the same apply for Applecare?

I.e.- if i get an activation code sent from the U.S., is it still fine to use?

Also, does it have to be registered before the initial warranty runs out?
