Does underside of nMP get warm/hot?

While i wait for my nMP to arrive can anyone tell me if the underside of the base gets warm/hot?

I ask as i want to place it on top of my desk but its a little delicate in terms of finish and is easy to mark (learnt from bitter experience)

My 6 Core isn't the slightest bit warm. It's been on for 2 1/2 days (sleep mode from 5pm to 7am or so)

Mine has been pegged for the last 12 hours.

Underside is room temp.

The shell is a little warm.

The top ring of the shell is a little warmer still.

Warm, not at all hot.

Confirm what was said. There’s a clear rise in temperature as you move up the case.
