Does Verizon charge activation fee to transfer physical sim on 12 pro max to eSim on 14 pro max?

Once transferred, can I transfer it back and forth without any additional fees?

If I want to switch back from the 14PM eSim to the physical sim on my 12 PM, can I do so without having to go into a store?

Yes you’ll pay an activation fee, but only the one time. Going back and forth from phone to phone you should be able to do those activations from the Verizon website.

I guess it depends on how you purchased the phone? Where did you buy it? If directly from Apple and you did the "Get an unconnected iphone (Sim - Free), there is no activation fee when you transfer from physical sim to esim.

Only time is if you do the carrier financing and what not is when you get hit with an activation fee.

Also once you transfer that phsyical sim to esim, that physical sim card is now toast, so you'll have to get a new one or you can transfer esim to esim on 12 Pro Max since it does have esim as well. As long as you are on ios 16 you should have that option. And no activation fee.

Thanks! I got it unconnected SIM free directly from apple.

So once I switch from 12 to 14, I can switch back to 12, but it will be an eSim and not a physical?

you can switch back to 12 as it has a esim. Since you said you have verizon, if you have verizon wireless account, you can easily activate an esim on an another device on your account. Account > My Devices >Activate or switch Device > Activate on an existing line. From here you enter the IMEI2 for esim. Follow instructions. Once everything is complete, the website will tell you where to go to activate it. It will also include a QR code too so you can scan it that way. I recommend doing this on your web browser on your computer.

You can even request a free physical sim card and have it mailed to you, you can activate it the same way as above but instead of activate on an existing line, you just activate sim.

I believe that this is ios 16 that you can transfer from esim to esim.

Thank you so much for taking the time! You were 100% right about everything.

I didn’t even have to go through Verizon. I just did it through the iPhone settings under cellular. Took 2 to 5 min to transfer seamlessly each way.
