Does VPN require extra juice?

    Complete noob to using a VPN connection. Not sure if I'm just imagining things or not, but does this deplete the battery quicker? Seems to me that it shouldn't, but I'm sure one of the experts on here would have a definitive answer

    For what's it's worth, I've been using it on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 and haven't noticed a difference.

    Every bit going through a VPN will be encoded and decoded. So yes, it'll require extra juice.
    Will you notice it? No.

    I notice a much quicker battery drain while conected through a VPN tunnel
